Works well on my 29 gal tank. Quite, simple operation. Rated @ 160 GPH. The bio-fiber biological filter is nice at this price. The replacement filters tend to last a long time between changing. I wish my local pet store carried replacement filters I can only find them @ WalMart. I wonder if the whisper filter cartridges are the same?
Rated 5 out of 5 by bdsmsub Great product, great price
I already own one of these and it has lasted for years. It's great and the replacement filters are very affordable.
I ordered another one weeks ago for my other tank (turtle tank) and it has yet to be sent.
A GREAT review for the filter,
A HORRIBLE review for Walmart's shipping to the store for pick-up. I still have not received the filter....it's been weeks.....
Rated 5 out of 5 by liljay Haven't found a better filteration system that beats price and the way it works like this one.

Very quiet, keeps water clean
Rated 5 out of 5 by Huskers1997 VERY, VERY GOOD FILTER!
I own a 45gallon tank and i thought that i would buy this filter to save money...i knew i was taking a risk having a filter for a tank smaller than mine but i bought it because of the value. I had algae floating in the water and stuck to the walls so i went and bought this, in one day the tank looks like it did when i filled it! The water is SO clear! Thank you AquaTech!!
Rated 1 out of 5 by someonesbrother I received a used filter with missing parts
I received a used filter with missing parts that had been retaped without inspection and sent to the next customer.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Rayratt Better suited for 15-30 gal tank
Well it is what it is!!
Rated 4 out of 5 by bsrift I love this filter. I have had it for about two years now. It only just started having problems starting and stopping, but that is probably because of handling on my part. I have moved a lot with it and may have damaged it. However, its a great price for this size of filter, and it keeps the water very clean. I like the overflow spout because it lets me know when I need to change the filter. Overall, a great buy for a great filter.
Rated 4 out of 5 by shellbell4ever great buy
I have no complaints for this item it is quiet and efficient and a good buy for the price :)
Rated 1 out of 5 by Carreon VERY DISAPPOINTED
After putting it in my tank and filled it with water it started to leak. So i took it off thinking it was just the o ring wasn't holding. So we took it off looked at it couldn't figure why it was losing water. Finally I held it up to the light, there were holes in the bottom of filter casing. Very unhappy with the product
Rated 1 out of 5 by kjamb parts missing
upon opening package from Walmart, The Aqua Tech Filter box was taped shut. Had previosly been opened. Opened box and parts were missing from filter. Not worth the time to deal with it so I threw it away, will not order from Walmart again
Rated 1 out of 5 by sweet49 I had almost 40 gallons of water on the floor from this fliter I am wating for the company to send some parts I felt they should have sent me new ones I am handdcap and it is hard for me to get around so I had to pay someone to come and get all that water out of my living room and now I have to see what is going to happen when I get the parts
Rated 2 out of 5 by PJAKS Do not like it
I bought this product for my 40 gal tank. The are some good features, but will only list what I do not like about it. Problem 1, since the pick up tube is not transparent, it is impossible to see how dirty it is. Cleaning the tube is guess work if trying to get it spotless. Problem 2, there is no water flow adjustment feature, which is good to have when feeding flake food. Problem 3, on numerous occasions I have found the impeller not spinning, maybe for hours, thus aquarium water is not being filtered.
Rated 1 out of 5 by seallion96 Do not recommend this particular product. I have used their products in the past and never had a problem. My fish are not as active, and the water is consistenly haven't to be changed, as well as the water comming out of the filter is green. Do not feel I have to change the water every 2 to 3 days.
Rated 3 out of 5 by louye good water flow but eats food fast
this thing has good water flow and cleans the water good but there is a problem.right when you feed the fish it starts sucking food into the filter.you will have to change the filter more often/buy more filters and it wastes a lot of food.the older model didnt have as good water flow but it didnt eat all that food either.its good for the company because they sell a lot more filters.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Stepheno3 Filter is Bad
This filter will Not get algae off the side of the tank.
It will not get stuff off the bottom of the tank.
and it will stop working on you completely
after a month or so.
Do Not Buy This filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mltoc GREAT FOR THE PRICE
Quite the value for a great product
Rated 3 out of 5 by WJeez I own the 10-20 filter. They still sell it, and it is a very good one for my 10 gal tank. However, they no longer sell the cartridges! Whats with that? Will the bigger filter be ok on this size of tank?
Rated 5 out of 5 by jeck It Works!
What do you say about an Aquarium Filter; it depends I suppose on the size of the tank and the number of fish you have in the tank. I'm not the fish person; my wife is, but I'm the one who has to buy it and pay for it, don't ya know.
But, from what I've seen this filter works well, but like all filters after a while it gets gummed up (YUCK!) and must be cleaned (Double YUCK!)
I just think these filters could be designed better with better materials, but then they would cost more too; it's a trade off.
Rated 5 out of 5 by MoneySaver1954 Great filter for 20-40 tanks. This is the third, or maybe fourth Aqua Tech Filter I have purchased from Walmart in the past 25 years. Price is easy on the pocketbook.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ArtyG Works great in silence.
I have been buying buying aquariums on Craigslist for the past few years and have thus bought a few of these filters along with the rest of the attendant gear. These included all the available sizes of Aqua-Tech filters so I got a pretty good exposure to the full line. They all proved to be amazingly tough, hard working , silent running and well designed for their task as well as economical to maintain. That such an excellently designed, affordable unit is available at such an ubiquitous retailer as WalMart is quite something to marvel.
Rated 5 out of 5 easy setup, great value and quiet!
I was new to the hobby when I bought this filter 9 months ago, and it has yet to disapoint me. I have used this filter w/ filter bio pad to cycle 3 aquariums ranging from 15 gal to 30 gal and within a day of cycling it clears the water perfectly.
the filter cartridges last 2-6 weeks depending on bio load, that is absolutely correct. I am able to extend the cartridge life to the desired 6th week mark by lightly rinsing the filter surface in syphoned aquarium water whenever I do a water change (every week because I have a tanganyikan cichlid setup now) so the value is just amazing. I only have to rinse the bio pad once a month (again lightly in used aquarium water 1 or two squeezes *do not dry out! all beneficial bacteria will die*).
very low maintenance compared to other forms of filtration and very cheap. I have been running a tanganyikan setup for a month now with no problems and no spikes in ammonia or nitrates (water parameters monitored daily) and it is all because of this filter.
I recommend that people follow instructions to get the best results, like I have. my only wish is that it came with the pipe cleaner scrub brush that I had to buy separately lol but if that is the only complaint who cares right?
Rated 5 out of 5 by FelipQ Great Aqua Tech Filter for my fish tank.
I was referred by my son who works at WalMart (Clovis, CA) about this. Shipping charges was just right, shipping arrival was on time and filter was perfect for what I needed. Recommended this item to my niece due that she is raising KOI fish and Guppies.....Hope that she does buy them from you....Thank you.....
Rated 5 out of 5 by Roland0 Good, quiet filter
This filter came with my 29 gallon aquarium kit. It is very quiet and moves water fairly well. I don't use carbon in my filters so I don't buy the Aquatech cartridges. I use a clamshell cartridge instead. I put some poly batting in it for mechanical filtration, and one of those 3M green scouring pads to act as a bio-material. For the price and with its customizability this is an excellent buy.
Rated 4 out of 5 by emsecosa AquaTech Filter 20-40
working great bought wrong size filter to go with
Rated 5 out of 5 by NCal Nice Filter
I just put it yesterday in my 40-gallon hex fish tank, and it is so quite, sleek, and the water flow is great. I bought the Tetra Fin filter last week (20-40 gallon as well), but that one had to go back to the store - so much noise and such a crazy water flow. I am happy with my AquaTech so far.
Rated 5 out of 5 A real good product
My fish was always cloudy until I put this filter system in. Very good product.
