We have even bought the new book coming out in December & he cannot wait until it arrives. Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT BOY READ If you have a child who hates to read (esp a boy), this book series is wonerful! My son was having trouble reading and focusing, but once we started this series, his interest was peaked. This book is written in comic scan font so it doesn't look so intimidating. Now he has the whole collection & looking forward to the new release that is due out in November. At first I brought the book at Barnes & Noble & paid alomost $14 for it. I never thought of looking at Wal-mart for it. Then when I came across it in the store & they were out of it I decided to check on line. I am so glad I did. The price is so cheap I could not believe the difference in what I had paid. So now I was able to get him the ones he did not have to finish his collection & waiting on the Novemeber one. 07/26/2010

She would laugh so hard and come tell me all about the funny adventures Greg went threw after she finished every couple pages. She got the whole series and loves reading. Rated 5 out of 5 by Reading solution for my 8 year old son! My son is 8 years old and has never found a book that doesn't lose his interest within a day or two. My son is in third grade but reads at a first grade level because he doesn't practice his reading. I bought him the first Wimpy Kid book a month ago and he was excited to read it EVERY night! The books have drawings on every page which helps keep his interest and they always make him laugh which makes our reading time fun and he enjoys it. The dialogue is hilarious and my son completely relates to the stories, such as playing video games or being grounded. The Wimpy Kid books are well worded for my son and he can now read a couple pages without needing very much help from me which has helped his confidence tremendously. Also, the stories are broken up to daily journal pages, so after each journal page I ask him to recap what happened, and so he will try his best to summarize what happened, and then I help him by reminding him of other things that happened as well, which helps strengthen his reading skills as well. Many other chapter books just go on for pages and don't offer a chance to summarize the reading after a page or two, which is so much easier for an 8 year old and the more he has done this, the more his summarizing skills have improved as well as his reading comprehension. I would also like to add that I actually enjoy this book and all of the books of the Wimpy Kid series, which also adds to the enjoyment of our reading time because while practicing his reading, we are also bonding! It's an amazing series, the solution to my son’s reading problems! 12/21/2009
