These were really cute so I got them, but was surprised that they were a little small. I'm not great with dimensions, but they were definitely the quality I was looking for. I'm grateful they are dishwasher safe, and they will look pretty on the dinner or party table.
I received this as a gift. I like it as it has many uses. One of the ways I use it is as a lazy susan on the kitchen table to hold flavored oils, special seasonings, salt\/pepper, etc. Toothpicks fit nicely in the covered center bowl. I stored away the individual pieces (trays & lids) in the event I would want to use this for serving food, but for the most part I like the lazy susan idea, and so did my daughter. So, that is why I bought one for her.
not really for eggs (no lid!) but for other things
The lack of a lid makes this impractical for serving eggs either outdoors at your own home or wherever travel is required. Too bad. Otherwise it's a great idea.\n\nHowever, all is not lost. In addition to the limited value of serving eggs inside your own home (if you can find a mess-free way of keeping them covered in the fridge for safety between the time you make them and the time you serve them!), this product has other uses.\n\nThe bottom tray, without the stainless insert, is a perfect size for filling with shaved ice in order to display and serve under safe conditions any already covered items, such as a collection of various single serving yogurt containers, or single-serving sized deli-container cups of fresh fruit. Useful for an indoor or outdoor buffet in that fashion!!\n\nYou can also ignore the egg-sized indentations (cover the stainless filler with tinfoil, even) and pile onto the stainless steel other things such as deli meats or shellfish that travel in their own packaging and just get unpacked onto the iced tray at your destination.
