    Kids' Bikes

A bike is a great way for a kid to develop balance and gross motor skills, get exercise, gain some independence and of course have fun.

Many children are ready to ride a bike with training wheels at around 3 years old, and most will be ready for a bike without training wheels somewhere between the ages of 4 and 8. Kids' bike sizes are determined by the size of the wheels rather than the seat height and frame size, as in the case of adult bikes.

Although your child's age can serve as a guideline for determining their bike size, the most accurate way to figure out what size bike to buy is to measure your child's inseam, the distance from the crotch to the bottom of the leg. A child with a 14-17 inch inseam can ride a 12-inch bike, a child with an 18-22 inch inseam can ride a 16-inch bike, a child with a 22-25 inch inseam can ride a 20-inch bike, and a child with a 24-28 inch inseam can ride a 24-inch bike.

Kids' bikes come in lots of fun colors and designs, so your kid can help you pick out one they'll love. And you'll love our Everyday Low Prices.
