All we need in a GPS!,
11/29/2009
We just bought TomTom's XL 325 SE at Walmart.
We downloaded numerous voices (my wife
likes the English, Irish & Canadian voices)
many POI (COSTCO, parks, rest areas etc.)
and the latest map updates via our MacBook and synch cable provided.
It snaps nicely into a mount (provided) on our Volvo dash and provided car charger and is easily
unsnapped to use elsewhere (even walking) .
After you type in a destination, you can then
simulate your trip (or part of it) before you leave.
Handy to describe to guests how to get somewhere.
TT speaks/shows directions clearly & is extremely versatile.
Installation & setup was straight-forward - just
touch screen to answer questions (time etc.).
The Instruction booklet is also well written &
very helpful. There is also a plethura of info
& downloads on TomTom’s website where
you also register. This ia a real deal – Don’t know what more we'd want in a GPS. We're not impressed by more expensive models you can speak instructions to. This is all the GPS we need,
and we can update as required vi our MacBook.
We also considered downloading TomTom to our iPhones, however,t that would have cost more ($100), so the XL325 is a better deal for us.
