Dyson DC25 All Floors Bagless Upright Vacuum,
02/06/2010
I bought this just on reputation alone. A DYSON!!!
I have gone through a few Eureka’s in the last few years and the fate was always the same, broken permanent filters, quickly clogged HEPA ones, and clogged hoses and air ways.
My last vacuum; the Eureka Capture+ pet version was a fantastic vacuum, with the exception of above, I was constantly getting a "performance indicator" light after 10 minutes of cleaning. Then finally the permanent cone filter broke and everywhere I looked I couldn't find a replacement.
After using this for a few weeks I found that this DC25 is an excellent vacuum.
Pro's: Light weight, no direct hoses to clog, the telescopic attachment, some say cumbersome, to me is excellent and easy to access. The reusable filters are easy to access and to clean.
Cons: The brush is slightly but noticing smaller than my last one, no light and I find myself slamming into things because of the new maneuverability.
Other: People complain about the cord. I have yet to see any problem with it; I was able to do multi rooms in an average/large size apartment without unplugging.
Conclusion: As I said before this is a great vacuum, but I did not see and sufficient difference between the Dyson DC25 and my Eureka Capture+ when it came to dirt in the bin, this is where I found disappointing.
Based on price versus performance; if I was able to acquire the part for my Capture+ I would have stuck with the Capture+ based on usage between the two.
I have researched the DC25 on multiple sites to make sure if parts are needed they are available … and they are. Time will tell if they will be needed.
